If you are craving fresh seafood that won’t break your bank account and are looking for an escape by the sea in Los Angeles, then Malibu Seafood Fresh Fish Market & Patio Cafe is where you want to be.
Malibu Seafood is a tiny fish market and patio cafe on Pacific Coast Highway that looks like a shack. After you order your fresh seafood meal, you can take it outdoors to eat it on the patio or the beach, or climb a short set of stairs where long family-style tables are assembled.

You can’t miss its colorful sign on Pacific Coast Highway across the street from the beach in Malibu.

You have to stand in line at the market to place your order. A special party was congregating when I was last there, so don’t freak out about the crowd, although Malibu Seafood is a popular haunt.

You will receive a buzzer that will go off when your food’s ready. You can also take home fresh fish, as there’s a fish market inside with the day’s fresh catch.
I ordered their fresh crab and shrimp salad. You won’t find any fake KRAB in that salad. It was the REAL thing. The restaurant’s Fish and Chips are also highly recommended.

I love the casual atmosphere, and on a beautiful sunny day in Malibu, it’s a seafood lover’s paradise.
Malibu Seafood is located at 25653 Pacific Coast Hwy in Malibu, California.

Your day sounds fabulous. I broke down and started allergy meds yesterday. Sometimes I wonder what’s worse, the meds make me so tired.
I’ve seen this restaurant on TV, I think on Pump Rules.
I hate taking allergy meds too, Doreen. It’s been really brutal this year. Cool that you saw the restaurant on TV.
There is something extra special about eating seafood close to the ocean! You are so good ordering the salad! I think I would have gone for the fried fish.
Believe me, Haralee, I almost went for it. I had a taste, though.
It’s too bad that the seafood place uses plastic containers for meals. We all should be working on reducing our use of plastic. However, it’s great that a woman grabbed your container and reused it. Good for her.
My plan is to take a quart jar when I go to eat out so I can take leftovers home in it. I forgot for my lunch Wednesday. However, I did reuse it Thursday when a friend gave me half of a cake to take home.

True. They should be using paper instead of plastic but the woman didn’t even wipe out the container. She just put her food in it. It’s a good idea to carry a reusable container when you have leftovers.
