Old Calabasas is a city in the County of Los Angeles located at the southwestern corner of the San Fernando Valley below the foothills of the Santa Monica and Santa Susanna mountains. It’s an affluent area best known as the home of the Kardashians and other celebrities.

Calabasas Road has an old-fashioned feel and is a lovely place to hang out, have a bite to eat, and shop in unique boutiques. It hosts a fabulous farmer’s market every Saturday morning.
The Leonis Adobe is a historic landmark and museum built in 1844 that offers a glimpse into the region’s ranching history. Visitors can enjoy guided tours to learn about the area’s early settlers.
Nearby, is Calabasas Creek Park, a charming garden area to walk through and picnic. It features a recreated Chumash village with huts and displays for visitors to learn about the indigenous people who once lived there.
The Sagebrush Cantina has been in Old Calabasas for over 50 years and offers live bands, Mexican-American cuisine, and cocktails. It’s a popular watering hole for the local community and hosts a busy Sunday Brunch.
The Pedalers Fork is a restaurant and coffeehouse for bike enthusiasts with a bike shop in the back. It serves locally sourced “New American” cuisine and is vegan-friendly.
The Commons at Calabasas
There are several shopping areas in Old Calabasas but The Commons at Calabasas is most popular because it features outdoor cafes, a lovely Barnes and Noble, a movie theater, and a variety of restaurants.
It was acquired by Rick Caruso, owner of The Americana in Glendale, and The Grove in Mid City Los Angeles.
At the far western end of The Commons is a rock pond with whimsical statues and live turtles that are fun to watch.
King’s Fish House on the eastern end is a seafood lover’s delight and a popular eatery.
The Commons is often used for special events.
More things to do in Calabasas
Calabasas extends past Old Calabasas to the west and hosts an annual Pumpkin Festival with entertainment and food at Juan Bautista de Anza Park.
The King Gillette Ranch near the Malibu Creek Watershed is a scenic parkland. It was the residence of razor magnate King C. Gillette in the 1920s. His sprawling Spanish Colonial Style mansion still stands there. The Ranch hosts Halloween and winter holiday light shows each year.
