Although Los Angeles may not have snow, the city offers an abundance of holiday events that are fun for the entire family. I have listed some of my favorites below.
L.A. Zoo Lights Animals Aglow
November 13 – January 11, 2025.
The Los Angeles Zoo is aglow with lit-up animals and a fabulous light show from mid-November to much of January each year. Walk for miles throughout the zoo, and enjoy refreshments and family fun. Timed tickets are required.

Descanso Gardens Enchanted Forest of Light
November 16 – January 4, 2025.
Descanso Gardens in La Canada Flintridge hosts its amazing light show from the end of November to the first week in January every year. Timed tickets must be purchased in advance.
You will feel as if you are in a fairyland as you wander through the woods of this extraordinary botanical garden, where you will see swirling and sparkling lights in a natural environment.

Holiday Road in Calabasas

Holiday Road is an immersive holiday experience from at King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas.
It is a fun walking trail for the entire family that includes a festival of lights, with holiday-inspired adult cocktails, food trucks, activities, and more.

Enchant Los Angeles

Santa Anita Park, 285 W Huntington Dr, Arcadia, CA 91007.
Enjoy ice skating, an enormous light show where you walk through trails, a snow slide, a shopping village, food, and drinks. They also offer theme nights.
Westfield Century City

The Westfield Century City will be ringing in the holidays with various one-of-a-kind experiences. Its Holiday Village will transport visitors to an imaginary world of local shops, quaint streets, and seasonal delights.
Stop and shop at The Market, enter the Town Square to visit The Clocktower, then continue to Santa’s mailbox, where guests can mail letters directly to Santa. Snap a photo next to a life-size steam engine and listen to live performances by a cast of costumed villagers at The Reindeer Railway Train. Make a reservation to experience Santa’s Bungalow and Mrs. Claus’ Bakery, where you can be transported to the North Pole and meet Santa! Sit back and relax at Blitzen’s Bar, where you can enjoy hand-crafted cocktails and hot cocoa.
Passport to Santa at the Beverly Center

The Beverly Center at 8500 Beverly Boulevard, Eighth Floor, Los Angeles, is presenting Passport to Santa, where kids can collect stamps at each whimsical stop – from Fronty’s Freeway to Gingerbread Grounds. This is a ticketed event that takes approximately 2 hours.

The Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena

Floats for the Tournament of Roses Parade in Old Town Pasadena on January 1st, 2026 at 8 AM PST are being readied for the big event. The Rose Queen and her Court have been chosen. This year’s theme will be “Celebrating a World of Music: The Universal Language.”
